What Should I Expect In My Initial Consultation With Your Firm?

After we talk on the phone, we’ll schedule an in-person interview. You’ll come down to my office and I’ll talk with you about two things.

First, we’ll discuss the facts of your case. We’ll talk about what happened and what legal strategies we can use to defend your case. During this interview, I’ll try to find out as much as I can about you, your background, your family, and who you are as a person. This is because a criminal case isn’t just about the facts–it’s about the character and the background of the person who may ultimately be on trial. I want to ensure that I know not just everything I can about the facts of your case, but also about you.

Second, we’ll talk about what expect as far as the scheduling of your criminal case, the prosecutor who’s going to be handling it, the judge in your court, and how long your case is likely to take.

After the initial meeting, we are going to have several court appearances together. I’ll meet with you in court and explain what’s going on as far as negotiations with the state and evidence that I’ve received. If I need more information from you, I’ll follow-up with you over the phone. I always keep my clients informed, and that’s especially true for the first thirty days of a case.
