Some records are “easier” to expunge only in the sense of how quickly they get expunged after the expunction order is signed. In Harris County, law enforcement agencies and courts are very good about expunging records promptly. The only agency that takes some time to expunge records is DPS, which keeps all of the statewide criminal history. But the only reason DPS takes so long is that it has to process every expunction order across the state. Even then, I’ve found that DPS typically will expunge a record a couple of weeks after the order is signed.
